It is with deep sorrow that we announce the death of John P. Sira Sr. (Johnstown, New York), born in Jamaica, New York, who passed away on November 20, 2023, at the age of 84, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parents, John O. Sira and Ruth Borge Sira. He is survived by: his wife Marion Gahr; his children, Susan S. DeRocker (Ron) of Broadalbin, John P. Sira, Jr. (Rachael Ostrander) of Mayfield and Rebecca M. Sira (Shawn Seeley) of Johnstown; his siblings, Jeanette Vatne of Norway, Henry Sira of Horseheads, Ronald Sira and Linda Shea of Saugerties; and his grandsons, Cameron DeRocker, Jeremiah Sira, Garrison DeRocker, John N. Sira, Darrien Sira and Wyatt Sira. He is also survived by six great-grandchildren; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Broadalbin Library or to the Brennan Memorial Humane Society, in care of the funeral home.
