He was loved and cherished by many people including: his parents, Jacob W. Kovarovic and Anabel Sammons Kovarovic; his wife Shirley; his children, Jacob D., Ernie J. Sammons, Terry Dufel (Vernon), Tammy Knoop (Henry), Shirley Hudyncia (Rob), Susan Kennedy (Scott) and Sherry Sammons; his grandchildren, Justin Dufel (Kate), Henry Knoop (Jessica), Kelly Reed (Bill), Jeffrey Dufel (Kayla), Julia Davis (Steve), David Knoop (Shai), Ryan Hudyncia (Megan), Jamie Radliff (Jedadiah), Jacob Sammons and Meaghan Todd; his siblings, Marlene Sherwood (John) and Gary Sammons (Maryann); his half-sister Cheryl McDermitt; and his stepsister Linda Evans. He was also cherished by 16 great-grandchildren.
