He was predeceased by: his parents, Henry Vacek and Elizabeth Vacek (Maceyka); his brothers, Charles and Michael Vacek; his nephew Thomas Vacek; and his stepdaughter Bridget Nabinger.
He is survived by: his wife Theresa Vacek (Mahon); his children, Lisa McNeil, Steve Vacek, Karen Woodman (Wallace) and Cynthia Lawhorn (David); and his stepsons, Donald Derby and Matthew Derby (Sherry).
