He was predeceased by: his parents, John Shannahan and Bernadette McBride; his stepfather John McBride; and his sister Mary Eileen. He is survived by: his children, Therese Hampton and Phillip Shannahan; and his siblings, Ann Grassi (Douglas), Karen Vinti, Kevin McBride (Rebecca), Scott McBride and Rick McBride. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
