She was predeceased by : her parents, John McHale and Verna McHale; her husband Arnold; and her sister Patricia Iacovazzi. She is survived by : her children, Kelley Murphy (Ronald), Scott and Michael; her grandchildren, Marissa, Sean Murphy, Brendan, Patrik and Victoria Crawford; her brother John McHale (Louise); and her brother-in-law Leland Smith (Joe). She is also survived by nieces and nephews along with many special friends and cousins.

In Lieu of flowers donations in memory of Joanne may be made to the St. James Church or the Ladies Ancient Order of Hibernians, Inc.
