We are sad to announce that on July 28, 2023, at the age of 82, Helen Schwatz Verderber of Jeffersonville, New York, born in Livingston Manor, New York passed away. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

She was predeceased by: her parents, Leo J. Hick and Theresa Urshler Hick; her former husband Joseph Schwatz; her son Paul Schwatz; her great grandchild Troy Thayer; and her brothers, William Dusold, Joseph Dusold, Leo Hick and Fred Hick.

She is survived by: her husband Fred Verderber; her children, JoAnne Meislin (Martin) and Thomas Schwatz; her daughter-in-law Jessica Schwatz; her sister Anna Spencer; her grandchildren, Jessica Thayer (Jared), Rachel Fagan (Patrick), Grace Schwatz, Hannah Schwatz, Cristina Schwatz and Joseph Hennigan; her great grandchildren, Emma, Nora, Hallie, Emilia, Nathan and Joseph "Lil Joe"; and her nieces and nephews, Denise Johnson, Cheryl Treffinger (Ken), Robert Verderber (Carren) and Mark Verderber (Linda).

Instead of flowers, memorial contributions in memory of Helen may be made to the Jeffersonville Volunteer Ambulance Corp.
