She was loved and cherished by many people including : her husband Jay Canter; her daughters, Samantha Canter (Sam) and Alexandra Canter; her siblings, Harvey Shapiro of Arlington, VA., Allan Shapiro (Sarah Lynn) of Scottsdale, AZ and Joyce Benson of Cave Creek, AZ; and her parents, Mary Shapiro and Morris Shapiro (Red) of Rochester, N. Y.. She was also cherished by nine nieces and nephews and many fury friends.

Those who would like to contribute to the causes that Lois held so dear to her heart can contribute to the Saratoga Foundation for Women Worldwide, or the American Human Society.
