He was predeceased by: his wife Connie Tily; his daughter-in-law Joan Tily; his grandsons, Matthew Whipple and Michael Hotaling; and his siblings, Joan Lasure of Sally Knapp and Leon Tily.
He is survived by: his parents, Alfred Tily and Harriet Tily; his children, David Tily (Denise), Richard Tily, Brenda McBride (Robert), Bonnie Hotaling (Donald), Elaine Whipple (Scott), Edward Tily (Grace), Melanie Tily, Nancy Barber (Richard), John Jr, Patrick Tily (Vicky) and Mark Tily; and his siblings, William Tily and Sue Fillinger. He is also survived by 25 grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren.
