He was loved and cherished by many people including: his parents, Earl Wright and Charlotte Ransom Wright; his wife Phyllis C. Dorazio Smith; his children, Valerie Helm of DeWitt and Duane Wright, Jr. of North Syracuse; his stepchildren, Melanie Coleman of Dover, NH and Gregg Smith of Myerstown, PA; his sister Judy Loder of The Villages, FL; and his former wife Nancy Wright. He was also cherished by four grandsons; three step grandchildren; in-laws, nieces, nephews and cousins.
