He was predeceased by: his parents, Thomas F. Newell and Mary Ellen Mulvey Newell; his brother Allan Pierce; and his pet Sparky. He is survived by: his pet Marley; his wife Beth Fransen Newell; his children, Eddie Lyon of Bemus Point, Heather Gutknecht (Kevin) of Jamestown, Amanda Newell of Falconer and Marley; his grandchildren, Kristina Martin (John), Kristian Gutknecht (Alena Donahue) and Shayne Caldwell; his great grandchild Alesia; and his sister Bonnie John (Larry). He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
