He was predeceased by: his parents, Helen Carlson and Bernhard Carlson. He is survived by: his wife Kathleen (Moynihan); his children, Cynthia Clark (late Donald), Mark Carlson and Elizabeth Bauman (John); and his grandchildren, William Carlson, Natalie and Michael Bauman.

In lieu of flowers, the family respectfully asks that any charitable donations be made on his behalf to Chautauqua Hospice and Palliative Care.
