With profound sadness, we say goodbye to Melvin R. Lord (Jamestown, New York), whose vibrant spirit touched the lives of many. He was predeceased by: his parents, John Lord and Edith Simmes Lord; his son Joseph A. Lord; and his siblings, Robert Lord, Charles Lord, Doris Lutz, Joyce Wells, Norma Catanese and Shirley Whitton.
He is survived by: his wife Ellen Groves Lord; his children, Sharon Fischer (Lee) of Lakewood, Steven Lord (Dudy) of Jamestown, Judith Swanson (Steve) of Blockville and Sheliena Lord; his grandchildren, Jasmine Lord, Jacob Millward and Julia Millward; his stepgrandchildren, Tom Badgley, Hope Anderson (Ron), Phliana Miles (Devin), Ian Holmes (Jessica), Mike Swanson (Sarah), Rich Swanson (Crystal) and Melinda Swanson; and his brother Richard Lord (Joyce). He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
A burial was held on Thursday, February 13th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the Blockville Union Cemetery. A celebration of life will be held on Sunday, February 23rd 2025 at 1:00 PM at the Ashville United Methodist Church (2180 N Maple Ave, Ashville, NY 14710).
