He was predeceased by: his parents, Joseph LaPlaca and Lucy Mancuso LaPlaca; and his wife Joanne Saletta LaPlaca. He is survived by: his sons, Paul LaPlaca (Kathleen Strouse) of Cliffside Park, NJ and Michael LaPlaca of Boiling Springs, SC; his grandson Toren Sparks-LaPlaca of Cliffside Park, NJ; and his sister Angie Russo.
