He was predeceased by: his parents, Elizabeth Murphy and Jerry Murphy; his wife Bobbie Murphy (Jamestown); his stepson Michael Smith; and his sister Mary Murphy.
He is survived by: his partner Onnolee Samuelson; his children, Molly Moore (Ian) of Jamestown, Bridget Puccarelli (Joey) of Jamestown, James Patrick Murphy Jr. of Glenwood, NY and Martin Murphy (Julia) of Mayville; his stepchildren, Melinda Worden (Steve) and Mark Smith (Cindy); and his grandchildren, Derek, Carter, Madison, Gannon, Gabe, Lennon, Grady, Miles, Quinn, Nolan, Connor, Joseph and Nino.
