James F. Wirges Obituary
With heavy hearts, we announce the death of James F. Wirges (Jamestown, New York), who passed away on April 22, 2025 at the age of 91. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Franklin Wirges and Georgia Wirges (Scott); his former wife Rose Wirges (Jacuzzo); and his brothers, Richard, Robert and Thomas Wirges.
He is survived by: his wife Elizabeth "Betty" Wirges (Fischer); his children, Donna Scott of Gainesville, FL, Daniel Wirges (Ericka Gowan) of Bemus Point, Joanne Dean (Mark) of Jamestown, James Wirges (Carrie) of Playa de and Carmen; his grandchildren, Michelle Dias, Joshua Scott, Danielle Briggs, Kaitlyn Melendez, Kyle Dean, Conner Dean and Georgia Wirges; and his great grandchildren, Ayla, Eva, Abram, Asher Briggs and Hunter Dias. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, cousins and long-time friends.
Visitation will be held on Friday, April 25th 2025 from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Lind Funeral Home (805 W 3rd St, Jamestown, NY 14701). A prayer will be held on Friday, April 25th 2025 at 6:30 PM at the same location. A Mass will be held on Saturday, April 26th 2025 at 10:00 AM at the Ss Peter & Paul Catholic Church (508 Cherry St, Jamestown, NY 14701). A burial will be held on Saturday, April 26th 2025 at 11:30 AM at the Holy Cross Cemetery (508 Cherry St, Jamestown, NY 14701).
