He was loved and cherished by many people including: his parents, Grant Freay and Helen Hurley Freay; his wife Onnolee Lucile Anderson Freay; his sons, Charles Freay, Jr. of Toms River, NJ and Matthew Freay of West Ellicott; his grandchildren, Danielle, Kyle of Cincinnati, OH, Sydney, Gabby, Zach and Tony of Toms River, NJ; and his siblings, Francis O'Brien of Jamestown, Shirley Stockwell of Kennedy and Katherine Freay of Portland, OR.. He was also cherished by his wife of 66 years and was devoted to his two sons and grandchildren.
