He was predeceased by: his parents, Donald D. Klinginsmith and Elsie Erwin Klinginsmith; his grandson Craig; and his sister Marilyn Neider. He is survived by: his wife Wendy Rowe Klinginsmith; his sons, Andy, Phil, Michael and Brian; his stepson Charlie; his sister Anita Hall; and his grandchildren, Heather, Keith, Justin, Ryan, Kody, Anna, Lily, Alexa, Calin, Owen and Charlotte. He is also survived by several great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
