He was predeceased by: his father Clemmie Latson; his sister Melinda Latson-Smoot; his brother-in-law Orlando Gonzalez; and his close friend Randall Martin. He is survived by: his mother Paula Latson-Simpson (Climmie Latson); his wife Gwen Simmons; his children, Taniqua, Eric Jr. and Isaiah; his grandchildren, Markese, Alina, Tori, Harlem and Malani; his stepfather Lindrie Simpson; and his siblings, Michael and Rashida. He is also survived by aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family, and friends.
Visitation was held on Friday, January 17th 2025 from 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM at the Deliverance Baptist Church (227-11 Linden Blvd, Cambria Heights, NY 11411). A funeral service was held on Friday, January 17th 2025 at 6:00 PM at the same location. A burial was held on Saturday, January 18th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the Pinelawn Memorial Park.
