It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Derrick Pasley (Jamaica, New York), born in Long Island City, New York, who passed away on March 7, 2023, at the age of 58, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his father Lawrence Pasley Sr.. He is survived by: his mother Bessie Joyce Pasley (McHerrin); his siblings, Lawrence Pasley Jr. and Petra C. Pasley; and his cousins, Kristina Lowe, Annette Pasley, Renee Brown, Michael Maycock, George Maycock and Shawn Horton (Monique N. Scales). He is also survived by extended family & dear friends.

“Derrick was a friend and co-worker at the Dept. of Education. We didn't work in the same office, but would run into each other frequently. We'd eventually get around to talking about sports in general, and the Yankees in particular. I also had the good fortune to attend a few games with him, most notably the fifth game of the 2017 American League Championship Series, a 5-0 Yankee win. He was absolutely the nicest guy you'd ever want to meet. My condolences to the family. May he rest in peace.”
