It is with great sadness that we announce the death of William H. Hughes Sr. of Jacksonville, New York, born in Ithaca, New York, who passed away on June 27, 2023, at the age of 95, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

He was predeceased by: his parents, Lewis F. Hughes and Iva Mae Hughes; his wife Esther Hughes; his siblings, Robert, Augustus, Abram, Albert, Walter Hughes, Lillian Carr, Pauline Livingstone and Helen Hughes; and his sons-in-law, Butch McComb and Francis Elliott.

He is survived by: his children, Barbara Hughes Workman, Amy Hughes and William Hughes Jr. (Heather); his granddaughters, Emma and Olivia Hughes; and his sisters-in-law, Roberta Miller (Marvin Eggelston) and Beverly Gaffney. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
