She was predeceased by: her husband Dr. Malcolm "Jim" Pettit, Jr.; her grandson Jay; and her great grandchild Meredith. She is survived by: her children, Eileen Schiller (Ed), Susan Martau (Frank), James Pettit (Bernadete), John Pettit (Laurie), Elizabeth Mangels (Paul) and Jennifer Mollison (Mark); her grandchildren, Michael, Christina, Kristin, Kate, Kelley, John Craig, Gregory, Paul James, Mary, Emma, Patrick and Alex; her great grandchildren, Caroline, Davis, Lauren, Tommy, Charlotte, Colin, Mary Kate, Cole, Stella, Frankie, Cameron and Charlie; and her sisters, Fran Papamarcos and Doris Carinci.
Visitation was held on Sunday, January 5th 2025 from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM and from 7:00 PM to 9:00 PM at the Fredrick J. Chapey & Sons Funeral Home, Inc. (200 E Main St, East Islip, NY 11714). A funeral Mass was held on Monday, January 6th 2025 at 9:45 AM at the St. Patrick's R. C. Church (9 N Clinton Ave, Bay Shore, NY 11706).
