She was predeceased by: her parents, Leslie Sowards and Betty Sowards (Ike); and her brother Lindsay Sowards. She is survived by: her children, Dena Ganoung (Bob), Jill Sandburg (Paul) of Florida, Jim Nichols of Arizona and Darren Nichols (Karen) of South Carolina; her grandchildren, Stephanie Riley (Patrick), Greg Ganoung, Ashley, Courtney, Kaelyn Sandburg and Cody Nichols (Tori); her brothers, Zane Sowards (Connie) and Dann Sowards; and her sister-in-law Debbie Sowards (Lindsay). She is also survived by four great grandchildren.
