We are sad to announce that on March 22, 2025, at the age of 81, Rodney Hamford Schaffer of Ilion, New York passed away. Family and friends are welcome to send flowers or leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his wife Geraldine; his brothers, Ronnie and James Schaffer; and his siblings-in-law, Harold Wehrle, Louie Lamb and Thora Schaffer.
He is survived by: his children, Geraldine Ortiz (Jason) of Schuyler, Rodney Schaffer (Mindy) of Ilion, Russell Schaffer (Cathy) of Newport, Vicki Talerico of Orange City, FL, Sue Schaffer of Charryvill, NC and Rosa Schaffer (Potsie) of Ilion; his grandchildren, Brittney (Angel), Steven (Amber), Jason (Jackie), David Talerico, Samantha (Mike), Madison Ghould, Amanda (James), Christine (Isirel), Kelly Vandorn, Charlie Vandown, Rodney (Shana), Melissa (Matt), Ashley (Mike), Brandon (Samantha), William (Laken) and Lexi Fuller; his siblings, Jean Wehrle, Karen Lamb, Richard Schaffer and William; and his sister-in-law Barbara Saxe. He is also survived by several great-grandchildren, a host of nieces and nephews.
Visitation was held on Sunday, March 30th 2025 from 1:00 PM to 3:00 PM at the Whiter-Hendrix Funeral Home (100 Otsego St, Ilion, NY 13357). A funeral service was held on Sunday, March 30th 2025 at 3:00 PM at the same location.
