He was predeceased by: his parents, Royce Gillette and Florence VanNort; his stepparents, Michael Staffo and Fran Gillette; his brother Brian Gillette; and his parents-in-law, Harold, Bridget Murdock, Christine Murdock, Marion Gillette, Carl Markowitcz, Emilie and Vincent "Babe" Nicolette.
He is survived by: his wife Judy; his daughters, Lora Bonavita (Michael Insogna) of Middleville and Lisa Taylor (Brandon Avery) of Ilion; his grandchildren, Jonathan Bonavita, Asha Bonavita, Teresa Cotton and Ryan Taylor; his great grandchildren, Kayden Sherwood and Ellie Cotton; his siblings, Ronald, Carol Gillette of Florida, George Gillette of West Winfield, Joan Paddock of Connecticut, Pamela, Douglas Broat of Frankfort and Cindy Markowitcz of Marcy; and his parents-in-law, Stanley, Beverly Murdock, Bill, Emily Murdock, Ronald Murdock and Linda. He is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
