He was predeceased by: his parents, James Edward and Margaret Ryan Peterson. He is survived by: his children, Kevin J. Peterson (Anita) of Depew, NY, Steven Peterson (Alicia) of Glenmont, NY, Marianne Peterson-Anderson of Hopewell Junction, NY and Jeanne Fedun (Stephen) of Seymour, CT; his sister Dottie Verch (Larry) of Westerlo, NY; his grandchildren, Caitlin Porter (Kris), Josh Peterson (Antigona), Haley Peterson, Christian Peterson, Stacey Peterson, Tucker Anderson, Griffin Anderson and Shayna Anderson; and his great grandchild Charlotte Porter.
Interment will be made at Gerald B. Solomon National Cemetery, Saratoga, NY at a date to be determined.James's family respectfully requests memorial donations to Tin Can Sailors or the Dutchess County SPCA.
