He was predeceased by: his siblings, June Brower, Jean Farinacci, Gerald and Stephen Foster. He is survived by: his wife Karen Elemendorf Foster; his sons, Kyle and Brandon Ostrander of Poughkeepsie; his siblings, Ronald, Emily Foster of Poughkeepsie, Vere Foster Jr. of Reno, Donald, Rose Foster of Yorktown Heights, Cherry Poliquin, Carl Clark of Poughkeepsie, Judith Snyder and Raymond Juliano of Palm Coast, Florida.; and his pet Jasmine.
