He was predeceased by: his parents, Elmer Briggs and Marianna Richter Briggs. He is survived by: his wife Linda Rose; his children, Donna J. Chapman and Donald E. Briggs, Jr.; his grandchildren, McKenzie Briggs, Travis Chapman and Michaela Chapman; and his sister Marion Zimmer (Fred). He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
