It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Anita Whelan of Hyde Park, New York, born in Middletown, New York, who passed away on August 16, 2023, at the age of 80, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was loved and cherished by many people including: her parents, Genevieve Horton (Sedelmeyer) and Randolph Horton (Ben); her husband James L. Whelan Jr.; her daughter Karen L. Whelan of Beaufort, SC; her granddaughters, Kelly of North Carolina and Ashley Whelan of North Carolina; her son Stephen P. Whelan; her grandchildren, Meaghan of Hopewell Junction, Patrick of Hopewell Junction and Matthew Whelan of Hopewell Junction; her daughter Maureen M. Kverek (Robert) of Poughkeepsie; her grandchildren, Shannon Au (Alex) of Washington and Michael Boes of New York City; her sister Susan Walker of Cornwall, NY; and her sister-in-law Grace Weiss of North Carolina. She was also cherished by many nieces, nephews, and friends.
