He was predeceased by: his parents, Claire Wheeler and Allan S. Wheeler; and his daughter Daina S. Wheeler. He is survived by: his sister Lois C. Sullivan; his wife Felicita Wheeler; his stepchildren, Darryl R. Reeves, Bryan A. Reeves and Shayna M. Reeves; his children, Lisa A. Wheeler (Jared Hartwell), Kristen V. Murphy (Wheeler) and Allan D. Wheeler (Keith Hudes); and his grandchildren, Kerry and Daniel.

Visitation was held on Thursday, April 24th 2025 from 1:00 PM to 3:30 PM at the Sweet's Funeral Home (4365 Albany Post Rd, Hyde Park, NY 12538). A memorial service was held on Thursday, April 24th 2025 at 3:30 PM at the same location.

In place of flowers, the family requests donations be made in Allan's name to the Amercian Cancer Society or the Cerebral Palsy Foundation, honoring his lifelong commitment to service, family, and community.
