He was loved and cherished by many people including: his children, Emily Barnabee, Jill McArdle (Timothy), Jan Kandler, Troy Kandler (Joan) and Kim Bertone (Joseph); his grandchildren, Aimee Barnabee Corwin, Bethann McArdle Mulvey, Wendi McArdle Sullivan, Joseph Bertone, TJ McArdle, Ryan McArdle and Tara Bertone; and his sisters, Ruth, Gloria and Lynne. He was also cherished by numerous nieces and nephews.
