He was predeceased by: his parents, William B. Stier and Freda E. Hofmann; his wife Ellen Bernice Vosburgh of John's Lutheran Church; his son Robert W. Stier, Jr. (Mary) of Fairfield, Ohio; and his sister Gretchen Stier-Brodish of Tamarac, FL..
He is survived by: his sons, Mark A. Stier (Hope) of Highland, NY and Christopher J. Stier (Leah) of Elizaville, NY; his brother Carl Jon Stier (Elly) of Atlanta, GA; and his grandchildren, Ryan, Ella, Owen, Mollie and Annie Ellen.
Visitation was held on Thursday, January 23rd 2025 from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Bates & Anderson Funeral Services (110 Green St, Hudson, NY 12534). The military honors was held on Friday, January 24th 2025 at 6:30 PM.
In lieu of flowers the family suggests contributions to the American Cancer Society.
