He was predeceased by: his parents, Mercedes Hongach and Michael Hongach. He is survived by: his daughter Jamie Hongach; his grandsons, Hudson and Oliver; his son Michael Hongach; and his grandchildren, Trenton and Nicole.

In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made in Michael's memory to the Hudson Fireman's Home, honoring his final years and his commitment to the firefighting community.
