He was predeceased by: his parents, Hanford Austin and Doris Austin (Johnson); his son Clayton Austin; his former wife Janice Austin; and his brothers, Donald and Kenneth Austin.
He is survived by: his wife Lee McClure; his son Thomas Austin (April); his grandchildren, Levi and Claire of Greenville; his stepson David Austin of Whitehall; his brother Jerry (Gail); his sister-in-law Karen Austin of Whitehall, NY; and also, Carol Desourdy and Maria Loveland. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
