He was predeceased by: his parents, Raymond Getty and Carolyn Getty (Reynolds); and his brother Kyle Raymond Getty. He is survived by: his in-laws, Norman and Marion Hitchcock; his wife Betty H. Getty; his son Kyle Getty (Rella); his grandsons, Ford, Jack and Neil; his daughter Emily Getty-LaFountain (Nick); his grandsons, Clay and Graham; his son Luke Getty (Jessica); his grandchildren, Evelyn, Beau, Grant and Sutton; his son Tyler Getty (Hillary); his grandchild Rory; and his siblings, Diane Smith (Randy), Sally Getty, Bonnie Plue (Richard), Terry Getty (Gail), Rhonda Davies (Gary), Kevin Getty (Alison), Brian Getty (Winifred) and Wendy Harrington (Jason). He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews, cousins, and in-laws.
