Vesta Irene Mullen Obituary
With solemn hearts, we announce the passing of Vesta Irene Mullen of Houghton, New York, whose presence will be deeply missed, having departed on July 4, 2024 at the age of 96. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Rev. Fraser Dunlop and Margaret Dunlop (Graham); and her siblings, Patye McCrea (Glenn) and Wayne Dunlop (Marguerite). She is survived by: her husband Laurence; her children, Shirley, Paul Mills, Barbara, Richard Pointer, Andrew, Jana Mullen, James and Darice Mullen; her grandchildren, Katie, Kristy, Julie, Phoebe, Frances, Jessica, Victoria and Jordan; her siblings-in-law, Dana Mullen, Ethel Mullen Forbes and Alvin Forbes; and also, Kate, Aaron, Hutch, Barrett, Bernie, Elodie, Lucia, Oliver and Asher. She is also survived by her husband of 73 years, and her many friends.
Until covid closed the border in 2020, she spent every summer of her life at Beulah Camp in NB, Canada: attending worship services; conducting genealogical and historical research; tending her perennial garden; and entertaining life-long friends and relatives.
At Vesta's request, memorial contributions may be made to the Laurence & Vesta Mullen Endowed Scholarship at Houghton University, or to Fillmore Central School.
