He was predeceased by: his parents, Anna Powell and Wilkins R. Powell; and his siblings-in-law, Joe Beard, Dora and Ralph Nelson.
He is survived by: his stepson Brandon Wayne Sodomick; his son Jef; his wife Barbara Ann Nelson; his siblings, Nancy Hatfield, Marjorie Powell and Richard Powell (Kathy); and his sisters-in-law, Gayle Nelson (Tom Schmid) and Connie Nelson Elder (John). He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
