He was predeceased by: his parents, James Coles and Virginia Burlew Coles; and his siblings-in-law, Dawn M. Coles and William Vaananen. He is survived by: his siblings, James S. Coles Jr., Sharon Andrus, Judith Vaananen and Douglas W. Coles (Donna). He is also survived by several nieces and nephews, cousins.
