He was predeceased by: his parents, John Vargo and Mary Vargo (Fiala). He is survived by: his children, John Joseph Vargo, II and Karen Anne Vargo Cook of Tallahassee, FL; his grandsons, John Joseph Vargo, III (Shannon) of Washington Park, CO, Kevin Gregory Vargo (Elizabeth) of Norfolk, VA, Matthew Gabriel Vargo of Pepper Pike, OH, Alexander Bradley Cook of Chillicothe, OH, Thomas Chiles Cook of Oklahoma City, OK and Andrew Michael Cook of Tallahassee, FL; and his wife Mary Kathyrn Lynott Vargo. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
A reception was held on Friday, April 25th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the Sullivan's Funeral Home (365 E Franklin St, Horseheads, NY 14845). A committal service was held on Friday, April 25th 2025 at 3:00 PM at the St. Mary Our Mother Cemetery (816 W Broad St, Horseheads, NY 14845).
