He was predeceased by: his parents, Cornelius Mahon and Mildred Bradley Mahon; and his daughter-in-law Andrea Mahon. He is survived by: his wife Patricia Gantert Mahon; his son Peter Mahon of Horseheads; his granddaughter Hannah; his son Bill; his child-in-law Jessie Mahon of Pine City; his grandchildren, Charlie, Ryan and Molly; his children-in-law, John and Jillian Mahon of Big Flats; his grandchildren-in-law, Matthew, Benjamin and Lauren; his daughter Kristy; his son-in-law Jacob Kierst of Pine City; his grandchildren, Millie of Jacob, II and Leo; his brothers, David (Ann Mahon), Donald (Joan Mahon), Thomas (Gwen Mahon) and Dick (Phyllis Mahon); and his friends, Bill, Carol McKenzie, Africa and Costa Rica. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
