He was predeceased by: his parents, Andrew Leroy and Mildred Josephine Waser Hostetler; his wife Susan Schneider Hostetler; and his grandson Walter Scott Kramer Jr.. He is survived by: his daughters, Heidi Beard (Mark) of Waynesboro and Amy Slyter of Myrtle Beach, SC; his granddaughters, Susan Ranoull, Samantha and Sarah Kramer; and his great grandchildren, Vladamier Overton, Sadie and Stella Hines.
