With heavy hearts, we announce the death of David Root (Horseheads, New York), born in Elmira, New York, who passed away on August 18, 2023 at the age of 70. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

He was predeceased by: his parents, Gerald Root and Charlotte Moore Root; and his sisters-in-law, Linda Root and Jeanne Root. He is survived by: his wife Barbara Patterson Root; his daughters, Kendall Wheeler (Ryan) and Erin Furstoss (Ronny); his grandchildren, Jonny, Maggie and Landry; and his siblings, Gary Root, Steve Root, Clifford Root (Jackie), Elaine Rupp (Tom) and Russell Root (Lori).
