He was predeceased by: his parents, Clyde William McDermott and Elizabeth Borst McDermott; and his brother George McDermott. He is survived by: his wife Mary Ida Hovey McDermott; his daughter Marta; his son-in-law Michael Bahantka of Elmira, NY; his grandsons, Lance Bahantka and Emry Bahantka; and his sisters, Beverly McDermott of Arkansas, Patricia (Larry Dakin) and Louise "Sharon" Robbins of Corning. He is also survived by several nieces, nephews, cousins, and a host of caring friends.
