It is with deep sorrow that we announce the death of Wilma F. Root (Hornell, New York), born in North Bingham, Pennsylvania, who passed away on December 8, 2023, at the age of 92, leaving to mourn family and friends. You can send your sympathy in the guestbook provided and share it with the family.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Irving Mullen and Bess Mullen (Empson); her husband Theodore "Ted" Root; her son T. Donald "Donnie" Root; her grandson Eric Drake; and her siblings, Harlan Mullen, Onalee Robinson, Robert Mullen, Ruth "Minnie" Changose, Roger Mullen, Alvah Mullen and Virginia Mullen.
She is survived by: her sons, Jerry Drake (Kathy) of Almond and Guy Drake (Eileen) of Wellsville; her stepdaughter Terri Jean Root Jackson of Olathe, KS; her brother James "Jim" Mullen (Virginia) of Wellsville; and her grandchildren, Paul Drake (Terri), Mary Bess Clark (Shawn), Matthew Drake (Christine), Michelle Drake, Brian Drake (Clarissa), Greg Drake (Taren), Ashley Hirt and Nate Hirt (Emily). She is also survived by several great-grandchildren, great-great grandchildren, nieces & nephews.
Wilma's family request that in lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in her name be made to the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society, 1311 Mamaroneck Avenue, (Suite 310), White Plains, NY 10605.
