He was predeceased by: his parents, Waldo J. Hale and Myra Hale (Borne); his wife Margaret Grace Hartman (Peggy); and his siblings, Phillip, Donald, Marie, Wilma, Jean and Irene.
He is survived by: his children, Martin Duane, Martin Hale (Barbara) of Columbia, California and Kellie O'Dell (Calvin) of Greenwood; his grandson Richard O'Dell (Sara) of Lenexa, Kansas; and his great grandchildren, Zackary, Elizabeth, Justin O'Dell of Lenexa, Shawna O'Dell of Hornell and Waneta O'Dell of Hornell. He is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
