He was predeceased by: his parents, Gustave Pollinger and Margaret Pollinger (Hebenstreit); his wife Jean (Mary Jean Quartz); his son John Pollinger; his sister Carolyn (Pollinger); his siblings-in-law, Ron Quinlan, Jerry, Bridget Quartz, John "Jack" and Mary Lou Tobin; and his sister Margaret Secondo (Jerry) of Hornell.
He is survived by: his children, Jennifer Dumont (Steve) of Groton, MA, Brigid Shipman of Ithaca, Richard Jr. "Heinz" Pollinger (Wendy) of Hornell, Pete Pollinger (Julie) of Satellite Beach, FL. and Joseph Pollinger (Kelli) of Arkport; his grandchildren, Nichole Soucy (Nathan), Michael Shipman, Neil Shipman, Alex Pollinger, Alex Dumont, Sam and Ben Pollinger; and his great grandchildren, Owen, Teddy Shipman, Dominic, Jackson, Julianna Soucy, Espen Jean and Ella Ann Shipman.
