She was predeceased by: her parents, Kenneth Downey and Ann Downey (Bobownik); her husband Adam Kautz; and her sister Elizabeth Stevenson. She is survived by: her boyfriend David Bacon; her daughter Maryanne Sears (Joe) of Midland, NC; her siblings, Judy Crook (Mike) of Canisteo, Kathy Chiarelli (Al Reynolds) of Hornell, Susie Cook of Painted Post, NY and Ken Downey (Lisa Postilli) of Hornell; her grandchildren, Alexandria "Alex" Goins (Matt), Elizabeth "Lizzy" Coulter, Adam Sears and Mya Sears; and her great grandchild Cameron "Cam" Underwood. She is also survived by several nieces & nephews.

Joyce's family request that in lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in her name be made to the Hornell Humane Society, 7649 Industrial Park Road, Hornell, NY 14843.
