She was predeceased by: her parents, Angelo Cartella and Josephine Cartella (Marino); her husband Robert J. Brown; and her siblings, Peter Cartella, Mary Andrezzi, Angeline Eason, Rose "Tina" Conine and Julio "Bozo" Cartella.
She is survived by: her brothers, Carl Cartella (Mary) of Hornell, NY and Francis "Butch" Cartella (Beth) of Almond, NY; her children, Robert Brown (Ellen) of Nashville, TN, Stephen Brown of Alfred Station, NY, Lisa Hamilton (Michael) of Alfred Station, NY, Angela Gillette of Hornell, NY, Cynthia Ebert (Lawrence) of Hornell, NY, Scott Brown (Catherine) of Hornell, NY and Jodi Brown of Houghton, NY.; her grandchildren, Michael, Megan, Sarah Jane, Nathan, Monika, Rachael, Ryan, Amanda, Ashley, Stephen and Thomas; and her great grandchild Charleigh Rose. She is also survived by several in-laws, nieces and nephews.
Josie's family requests that in lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in her name be made to the Hornell Alumni Association, PO Box 135, Hornell, NY 14843.
