He was predeceased by: his father Joseph E. Murphy; and his brother Joseph T. Murphy. He is survived by: his mother Bobbi Murphy (Clair) of Crystal River, FL; his fiancé Aaliyah Butler of Rochester; his sisters, Kelli Donlon (Gary Thummler) of Rochester, Jamie Murphy (Sara Mobley) of Fort Worth, TX and Laura Monell (Ben) of Neversink, NY; and his nieces and nephews, Shaelyn Donlon, Maeve Donlon, Norah Donlon, Colin Monell, Caitlyn Monell and Christian Monell.

Jonathan's family request that in lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in his name be made to American Foundation for Suicide Prevention, supporting.afsp.org. Jon was passionate about this charity and planned on participating in the Out of the Darkness walk.
