He was predeceased by: his parents, Rosario Prete and Philomena Prete (Scaglione); his brother Joseph M. Prete; his sister-in-law Patricia B. Prete; and his niece Laura A. Prete.
He is survived by: his wife Patricia Prete (Stisser); his children, Jean Prete of Hornell, Christine Prete-Freeland (Dave) of Vestal, NY, Karen Carney (Jim) of Hornell, Jon Prete (Andrew McSherry) of Edinburgh, Scotland, Deborah Smith (Kevin) of Hornell and David Prete (Jodi) of Canisteo, NY; his brothers, Francis Prete (Cecilia) of San Francisco, CA and George Prete of Arkport, NY; and his brothers-in-law, Gerry Stisser of Wellsville, NY and Lee Stisser (Christine) of Florida. He is also survived by 16 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren.
