We bid farewell to John Edward Nelson (Hornell, New York), born in Palm Beach, Florida, whose journey of life gracefully concluded on February 23, 2025 at the age of 74. John Edward touched countless lives with warmth and kindness, leaving behind cherished memories that will forever echo in hearts. He was predeceased by: his son John Nelson Jr.; his parents, Mary Lee Nelson and Otis Nelson Sr.; his brothers, Otis Nelson Jr. and Franklin Nelson Sr.; and his brother-in-law Curtis T. Harmonson Sr..

He is survived by: his caregiver Loretta Gay of Hornell; his children, Justin Nelson of Hornell and Nicole Faulkner (Rob) of Alfred Station; his grandchildren, Laniqua Din (Derrick) of Hornell and Brooklynn Geffers of Mt. Morris; and his great grandchildren, Ellasyn Din of Hornell, Paityn Glover of Hornell and Elijah Din (Yet) of Hornell. He is also survived by Several nieces, nephews and cousins.

Visitation will be held on Saturday, March 8th 2025 from 12:00 PM to 2:00 PM at the Bender-Brown & Powers Funeral Home (354 Canisteo St, Hornell, NY 14843). A celebration of life will be held on Saturday, March 8th 2025 at 2:00 PM at the same location.
